We thought it suitable to provide couples with a useful tool intended to eliminate further stress connected to the planning of your wedding day and to help remember every detail, in order to be well prepared and relaxed the day before, with no pending issues to be still to be solved...
Also adds, with these links, a hint of the traditions and superstitions!

18 months before
 Start searching a house or flat to purchase or rent.

12 months before
 Identify what type of wedding you would like, formal or informal, remarkable or minimalist, and decide the period of the year when you would like to celebrate it.
 Establish a budget.
 Schedule the date.

 Choose a church and contact the parish priest (if you would like to get married in church which is not located in your parish, remember that you have to ask for a permit)
 If you opt for a civil marriage, contact your Municipal Office.
 Identify a location/ a restaurant/ a catering vendor, and assess their availability on the scheduled date.
 Sign a preliminary agreement for the purchase of your new house, or check the availability of the flat you would like to rent.

6 months before
 Confirm the church or Municipal room.
 Prepare the documentation required for your marriage – remember that some documents are valid for no more than three months. Draw up a list of documents.
 Book the location for the reception by putting down a deposit or an additional advance.
 Start thinking about a destination for your honey moon.
 Sign a rental agreement for your house.
 Choose the type of dress you would like to wear for the ceremony.
 Prepare a first list of items you would like to be included in the gift list.

5 months before
 Enter a pre-marriage course (if you wish to get married in church) .
 Choose the witness and best man, and ask for their consent.
 Choose the bridal dress
 Prepare a preliminary list of guests and persons to which you would like to send only the invitation to the ceremony, and organise their addresses.
 Decide the music for the ceremony and for the reception, get in contact with an organ player and/or a music band.
 Select a photographer and find an agreement on the number of pictures and on video editing.
 Contact a car rental.

4 months before
 Choose and book your honey moon.
 Purchase the groom suit, the shirt and all related accessories.
 Contact a printer and define the style for announcement, invitation and thank you cards.
 Draw up a gift list
 Start a beauty treatment programme, including massage, and pay attention to your diet.

3 months before
 On wedding dress trial, define the hairstyle, the shoes, the gloves, the stockings, and the lingerie that best suit.
 Contact the florist for the bouquet, as well as for the church and reception room displays. Provide him/her with a map of the areas to be adorned.
 Ask the selected printer to produce the announcement, invitation and thank you cards within twenty days.
 Draw up the final list of items to be included in the gift list.
 Choose favour boxes and comfit bags.
 Define the menu, the list of wines and the wedding cake with the catering vendor, or with the restaurant chef or with the selected confectioner.
 Organize the stay of friends and relatives coming from far-off places .

2 months before
 Deliver the wedding list to the selected shop.
 Start putting the announcement cards to be mailed into their envelopes.
 Choose the wedding rings.
 Collect the documentation for your marriage.
 Place an order for favour boxes.
 Prepare the documentation required for address change.
 If the destination of your honey moon is outside the European Union, gather information on the documents needed at the Police Headquarters or at the embassy of the foreign country of destination in Italy. Furthermore, get information on any prophylaxis to be performed at the nearest Public Health Office.
 Have a wedding dress trial to define the accessories, the make-up and hairstyle.
 Contact your hairdresser and make-up man to book a trial.
 Agree on the time and way of delivery of the dress.

1 month before
 Have a dress trial with all the accessories.
 Have some face and body treatment
 Try the menu of the selected restaurant
 Purchase the dresses and suits for pageboys/bridesmaids.

3 weeks before
 Choose the final bouquet and confirm floral displays.
 Make a survey at the church/municipal room (possibly together with the photographer, the florist and person in charge of music).
 Choose the readings for the mass .
 The groom shall collect the wedding rings: often the witnesses and best men wish to present with the rings; if that is the case, they collect them.

15 days before
 Confirm the music plan.
 Give final approval of floral displays.
 Give confirmation for the car.
 Check the answers to announcement and invitation cards and urge undecided friends and relatives.
 Arrange guests seating and write place cards.
 Purchase a wedding ring cushion.
 Purchase a dress to be worn after the ceremony.

7 days before
 Agree in detail the snapshots and shooting at the church/municipal room and at the reception location with the photographer.
 Deadline for the final trial of the wedding dress with all the accessories, make-up and hairstyle.
 Now and then, put on your wedding shoes at home.
 Transmit the exact number of guests to the catering vendor/restaurant holder.
 Celebrate your bachelor party/hen party.
 Have your hair-cut and colour refreshed.
 Confirm the details of the honey moon and collect the documents needed.
 Pack.
 Have a first face and neck cleansing, and book a new one a few days before the ceremony.
 Contact the vendors for a final check.

2 days before
 Collect the wedding dress and check it very carefully.
 Hairstyle, manicure, pedicure, depilation and face cleansing.
 Give the wedding rings to a witness.

The day before
 Check the layout of the reception room, from tables to place cards positioning.
 Settle your accounts with vendors.
 Confirm the following day appointments at the hairdresser, make-up man, photographer, and driver.
 Give your mum/friend/wedding planner a pair of backup stockings and a pair of comfortable shoes, as well as all the items needed to refresh your make-up at the reception.
 Have a relaxing massage.

The day of the ceremony
 Get up with due advance (if you have been able to sleep).
 Hairstyle and make-up.
 Arrange for the photographer to get to the bride’s home at least three hours before the ceremony starts.
 Have the bouquet delivered at home and enjoy the day! Your wedding planner will take care of everything for the rest of the day.

After your honey moon
 Rigorously hand-write and mail all thank you cards.
 Give a favour box to the persons who were not invited but have sent a gift of flowers.
